From construction, through design and management, the challenge of being a part of providing telephone service to an isolated area, which never had service, to today’s all-inclusive service has been an exciting and rewarding experience.

I begin my career in the telecommunications industry as a construction contractor installing aerial and buried plant.   I was recruited by an established engineering firm in the Midwest and started as an inspector, technician, resident engineer and Director of operations, managing all the outside plant operation for the company.  This entailed the coordination of up to 25 resident engineers and at least that many inspectors at any given time on projects ranging across the Midwest.  I am well versed in (REA) RUS specifications and regulations and was instrumental in upgrading the RUS 515,517 & 217 to include new fiber design and unit description, most of which are still being used along with most General Orders, BICSI, NESC and NEC.   I have designed fiber rings, CSA’s, for ILEC’s and CLEC’s  for very large exchanges in over 15 states.  Most of the projects were taken from conception thru completion and included assisting owners in obtaining financial aid from RUS.

I have extensive knowledge with  Design and Networking (both fiber & copper), staking, permitting, contract administration and close-outs. My specialty is aerial, as I have years of experience in build, design and stake.  I have some experience in COE (central office engineering); however, I prefer and am more qualified to work with OSP.

My interdiction to the world of UTILITIES was through a power contractor. I worked several years building transmission, three phase and single phase power lines and turning them up. This experience has been priceless throughout my Telecommunications career

I have a national security clearance, along with AutoCAD, Micro Station and Microsoft office Pro experience. I am familiar with various CADD and GIS mapping programs and land base mapping.
